Far too long, there have been many accidents on Route 4 where individuals are trying to cross Route 4 to get on the Lower Pindell Road. This road takes you to many houses and farms in the Anne Arundel County Area. It is a busy intersection, and it has led to the deaths of many. It is a dangerous intersection due to continuous speeding on Route 4. There is a curve just onward of the intersection where people speeding may not have enough time to decrease their speed in time for individuals crossing over Route 4. We need to change this traffic structure. I write this personally due to losing two of my lifelong friends at this intersection. The negligence of a driver speeding led to their death. Before his death, my friend operating the vehicle had lived on that road his entire life and had made that trip across Route 4 countlessly, which shows that experience does not matter crossing over Route 4. It is a dangerous and unforgiving intersection. The State of Maryland must implement alterations to this location to ensure the safety of others, so no other family has to grieve the death of a relative from this dangerous intersection again. With the proper amount of support of this petition, I believe it will force the hand of the state of Maryland to do its civic duty to ensure the safety of others crossing this dangerous intersection.
