Woodside Halls has remained closed since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. We had been working since 2019 with Glasgow Life who had sought the help of Community Central Hall to assist them increase   the daily use of the Halls.  Glasgow Life was no longer able to have permanent staff located in it.  They provided a caretaker from their pool of employees whenever an event was taking place.

Since Community Central Hall is located so close to Woodside and was open from 7am until 11pm seven days a week with a full-time caretakers and administration it was an ideal partner to keep the Halls open fully thus ensuring the continuation of all existing services and ensuring the full use of this grand building. In agreement with Glasgow Life, Community Central Hall began working with the Scottish Government towards an Asset Transfer to secure the future of the building for the local community.

Community Central Hall is therefore seeking support, comment from local residents, partner organisations, elected members, former user groups of Woodside Halls, and other interested stakeholders for to continue the transfer of Woodside Halls from Glasgow City Council and guarantee its future. We are seeking your views not only on the services which have been provided by Woodside Halls since it opened in 1925 but also to discuss with you plans for future activities in an open, honest, and transparent manner and to hear your ideas on future activities.
