Rename the Majestic Theatre to the Hal Prince Theatre

Rename the Majestic Theatre to the Hal Prince Theatre
The Issue
Harold Prince was a singular talent, one who shaped theatre for decades and brought some of the best musicals the world has ever seen to life, and as a 21-time Tony Winner, his contributions to American musical theatre should be honored. There would be no better way than to give his name to the home of his longest-running production, the Majestic Theatre, where Phantom of the Opera has been playing for over 30 years now.
It is impossible to imagine our current theatre world without the influence of Prince's nearly-seventy year career, and for many in the theatre community, it is heartbreaking to know that he is no longer on this earth with us. For his contributions and his love of the theatre, he deserves to have his name immortalized, and any theatre would be deserving of his name, but none would be as meaningful as the Majestic, which also hosted his original production of A Little Night Music.
Lights will surely be dimming for him in the near future, but a lasting tribute would be worthy of the lasting impact he has made on the Broadway community and the world.
