Appeal for online exams (modern barakhamba)
Appeal for online exams (modern barakhamba)
The Issue
*After almost 2 years of online education, we strongly feel that re-opening should be done in phases for academic year 2021-22 and can be brought back to 100% normalcy with the beginning of the academic year 2022-23.
*In this 2 month phase, we ask school authorities and personally appeal to the principal, to focus on hybrid classes which make offline attendance optional.
*In light of the ending of the academic year 2021-22, the students also feel the heat of the final examination, to which we feel, it will be injustice to them. Students who have studied for an online examination pattern and for the past 2 years only been trained for online exams.
*We understand that the students preparing for the HSC and SSC board exams are to attempt on an offline basis. But we need the school authorities to understand our concerns for the 9th and the 11th grade students who are to be assessed internally via school.
*There have been several students who hold an anxious nature towards offline end-term exams especially after 2 years of online exams. The concern over the results of these exams remain primary under a shattered confidence if these exams sustain offline.
*Last of al, the Covid-19 virus and the pandemic, aren’t completely over. Concerns over new mutating variants remain.
*Almost all students and faculty have lost near and dear ones. The Modern School family and extended family has seen several casualties which raises concerns on how safe offline schooling will be.
To conclude: All miss school deeply and we can’t wait to see our children on campus, but it would be our generalised hope that it starts from Academic year 2022-23.
We appeal for a hybrid end term examination for class 9&11 if not completely online. Offline exams at the moment are not worth, at the cost of life and health.
