It is important for:

1,The economic prosperity of The North Yorkshire Moors its communtities and people.

2, Industries both new and old depend on good commuter links from the south.

3, North Yorkshire is home to many to tourist destinations that would be directly served by this reconnection. Job creation and and influx of new industry would follow on as a result.

4,The North Yorkshire Moors Railway, would be able to connect with services from York,Scarborough and the south and would also be able to run services to these destinations as a result. This in itself would create jobs, a valid commuter route across the moors utilizing the excellent Heritage services of the NYMR and a secure rail link for future generations.
