حرية العبادة

تعبّر بطريركية القدس للروم الأرثوذكس، مع غيرها من القيادات والتجمعات المسيحية في البلاد، عن رفضها الصريح والواضح للإجراءات الاسرائيلية الأخيرة التي أخذت تفرض قيوداً متزايدة على حرية المسيحيين في ممارسة شعائرهم الدينية في الأماكن المقدّسة، والتي تدّعي الشرطة الإسرائيلية أنها إجراءات لازمة لضمان سلامة المشاركين خلال مراسم سبت النور. 

تحتل كنيسة القيامة مكانة خاصة لجميع المسيحيين في البلاد وفي العالم، وفيها يتم احياء الشعائر الدينية، والتأمل في مسيرة صلب ودفن وقيامة السيد المسيح، وخاصة في عيد الفصح المبارك. ومنذ مئات السنوات يتم الاحتفال بمراسم "سبت النور العظيم" في الكنيسة، حيث تجتمع الصلاة والابتهاج بظهور النور المقدّس، وذلك في يوم السبت قبل عيد الفصح بالتقويم الشرقي، والذي يوافق يوم 24 نيسان هذا العام.

اشترطت الشرطة الإسرائيلية هذا العام، وبإجراء غير مسبوق، السماح بدخول ما لا يزيد عن 1000 شخص داخل كنيسة القيامة خلال مراسم سبت النور، في الوقت الذي من المتعارف عليه يدخل عادة آلاف المصلين والحجاج الذين يأتون لحضور هذه الشعائر الدينية. كذلك اشترطت الشرطة منع وصول أكثر من 500 شخص فقط إلى البلدة القديمة وساحة وسطح البطريركية المطلّ على كنيسة القيامة المقدسة، والذي عهد المسيحيون التجمع فيه عبر التاريخ لاستقبال فرحة ونور العيد.

تشدّد بطريركية القدس في بيانها على الالتزام "القوي والمُتجدد بحقنا الطبيعي بإحياء أعيادنا مع أبناء كنائسنا وأهلنا، والمشاركة معاً بالصلوات في كنائسنا في البلدة القديمة في القدس، ومن ضمن ذلك حقنا، وحق جميع أبناء كنائسنا الأصيل بالوصول الى كنيسة القيامة وجوارها اثناء احتفالات سبت النور العظيم وعيد القيامة المجيدة"، وأن هذا "الحق الالهي مارسناه مع أبناء الكنائس بحريّة على مر العصور واختلاف الحكم والحكام والظروف في المدينة المقدسة". وتدعو البطريركية إلى "التمسك بالإرث التاريخي والمشاركة بالشعائر والاحتفالات بعيد القيامة المجيد وسبت النور العظيم لهذا العام في كنيسة القيامة ومحيطها".

تلاحظ كنيسة الروم الأرثوذكس وغيرها من كنائس القدس أن المشاركة بالصلوات وحتى الوصول الى الكنائس في البلدة القديمة، خاصة في موسم اعياد القيامة، أخذ يصبح في الآونة الأخيرة "أمراً صعباً للغاية". وتضيف أنه "ليس هنالك ما يبرر هذه القيود المجحفة" معبرة عن رفضها "الصريح والواضح والكامل لكافة القيود، وأنها ضاقت ذرعاً من قيود الشرطة لحرية ممارسة العبادة، واساليب تعاملها غير المقبول بما يتعلق بالحقوق الطبيعية للمسيحيين في ممارسة الشعائر والوصول الى المقدسات في البلدة القديمة في القدس".

من هنا، ودعماً لهذا البيان، نناشد كافة الاخوة والأهالي والأصدقاء والمؤمنين بحرية العبادة بدعم قرار بطريركية القدس عبر التوقيع على هذه العريضة التالية ومشاركتها علناً:

"نحن الموقعين أدناه ندعم قرار بطريركية القدس للروم الأرثوذكس في إصرارها على عدم التخلي عن حقها في ممارسة الشعائر الروحية في كافة الكنائس وساحات الكنائس. ندعم أيضاً إعلانها بممارسة الصلوات والشعائر الدينية كما هو معتاد من قبل البطريركية والرهبان، راجين أن يتمكن كافة المؤمنين من ممارسة حقهم في المشاركة والعبادة".

The Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem, together with local Christian Organizations and community leaders, reject the restrictions on Christians gathering in and around their places of worship which the Israeli police claim will be necessary to ensure the safety of participants in this month’s Holy Fire ritual.

The Church of the Resurrection, also known, as the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, is the site where Christians believe Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and resurrected on the third day. During the ceremony, the faithful witness a flame of fire that emerges from the empty tomb. The event takes place each year on the Saturday before the Orthodox Easter, which this year falls on April 24.

The Israeli police have demanded that only 1,000 people enter the Church of the Resurrection for the Holy Fire ritual, although it is customary for many thousands of worshippers to attend every year. The police has also said that only 500 people can enter the Old City and reach the courtyards of the Patriarchate and the roof overlooking the Church of the Resurrection.

The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate said in a statement. “Our communities have been exercising this divine right freely throughout the ages and different rulers, regardless of the circumstances that the Holy City went through in history.” ….“We affirm our strong and renewed commitment to our natural right to celebrate our holidays along with our communities, families and to participate together in prayers at our churches in the Old City of Jerusalem, including the basic right of all our communities to access the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and its vicinity during Easter festivities including Holy Light Saturday,”

The Church in Jerusalem states that having access to churches in the Old City, especially during the Easter holidays "has become increasingly difficult in recent years", and "that there is no justification” for the additional restrictions put into place this year. The Patriarchate “affirms its explicit, clear and complete rejection of all restrictions," and declares openly that they are "fed up with police restrictions on freedom to worship and with its unacceptable methods of dealing with the God given rights of Christians to practice rituals and have to access their holy sites in the Old City of Jerusalem.”

We ask our international friends to support the decision of the Greek Orthodox patriarchate, by signing this petition and sharing it openly.  The petition  reads as follows:

“We the undersigned support the decision of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem that it will not compromise its right to provide spiritual services in all Churches and Church squares. We also support its announcement that prayers will be held as usual by the Patriarchate and its priests, hoping that all believers are able to participate”

Le Patriarcat orthodoxe de Jérusalem, en coopération avec des organisations chrétiennes locales et les dirigeants des communautés, rejette les restrictions imposées aux chrétiens voulant se rassembler dans et autour de leurs lieux de célébration, restrictions que la police israélienne prétend nécessaires pour assurer la sécurité des participants au rituel du Feu sacré qui doit avoir lieu durant ce mois.

L’église de la Résurrection, également connue comme église du Saint-Sépulcre, est le site sur lequel les chrétiens croient que Jésus a été crucifié, enterré et est ressuscité le troisième jour. Durant cette cérémonie, les fidèles voient une flamme surgir du tombeau vide. Cet événement a lieu chaque année le samedi à la veille de la Pâque orthodoxe, qui tombe cette année sur le 24 avril.

La police israélienne a demandé que pas plus de 1000 personnes n’entrent dans l’église de la Résurrection pour le rituel du Feu sacré, alors qu’habituellement ce sont des milliers de fidèles qui participent à l’événement. La police a aussi annoncé que 500 personnes seulement pourront entrer dans la Vieille ville et dans les cours du patriarcat et monter sur le toit au-dessus de l’église de la Résurrection.

Le Patriarcat grec orthodoxe a affirmé dans un communiqué : « Nos communautés ont librement pu exercer ce droit divin à travers les âges et sous tous les dirigeants, à travers toutes les péripéties de l’histoire de la Ville sainte. » … « Nous affirmons notre attachement fort et renouvelé à notre droit naturel de pouvoir célébrer nos jours de fête avec nos communautés et nos familles et à nous joindre ensemble aux prières dans nos églises de la Vieille ville de Jérusalem, avec aussi le droit pour nos communautés de pouvoir accéder à l’église du Saint-Sépulcre et à ses environs durant les fêtes de Pâques, entre autres pour le samedi du Feu sacré. »

L’Église qui est à Jérusalem affirme que l’accès aux églises de la Vieille ville, tout particulièrement durant les fêtes de Pâques, « est devenu de plus en plus difficile ces dernières années » et qu’il n’y a « aucune justification » pour les nouvelles restrictions imposées cette année. Le patriarcat « affirme son rejet clair et total de toutes les restrictions » et déclare ouvertement qu’ils sont « fatigués des restrictions policières sur la liberté de culte et des méthodes inacceptables d’agir sur le droit que Dieu a donné aux chrétiens de pratiquer leurs rites et d’avoir accès aux lieux sacrés de la Vieille ville de Jérusalem ».

Nous demandons à nos amis partout dans le monde d’accorder leur soutien à la décision du Patriarcat grec orthodoxe en signant cette pétition et en la diffusant largement. Le texte de la pétition est le suivant :

« Les soussignés soutiennent la décision du Patriarcat grec orthodoxe de Jérusalem de n’accepter aucune limitation à son droit d’assurer des services spirituels dans toutes les Églises et lieux d’Églises. Nous soutenons aussi l’annonce qu’il a faite que les prières seront assurées comme il en est coutume par le Patriarcat et ses prêtres, en espérant que tous les fidèles pourront y participer ».
