Paul Ryan has shown a morally repugnant attitude toward women's sovereign rights over their own bodies. In a recent interview, he claimed that rape is "another form of conception." Ryan's attitude is a leap beyond the idea of "legitimate rape," and further reveals his extreme, negative, and debased views on women's rights and sexual assault. Describing rape in this way is cruel and dehumanizing to rape victims as well as a direct indication of how little their rights matter. It reduces them and their experiences to their reproductive abilities and releases rapists from responsibility, even from being considered reprehensible in their actions.  The Republican party needs to call him out on his seriously dangerous statements.
