"La muerte de civiles inocentes"

Asunto: Actividad “Desde el río hasta el mar”

Me dirijo por la presente y por su intermedio a toda la Dirección del Museo, su personal, comisarios curadores y guías.

En estos se publicita la actividad del Museo titulada Desde el río hasta el mar. El texto que acompaña para explicar aclara que la elección de este nombre responde a una definición geográfica exclusivamente y como un lema poético que llama a la igualdad de derechos para el pueblo palestino.

Avergüenza ver una institución honorable, que tiene en su acervo y en exposición permanente una de las obras maestras más importantes que se hayan producido en el mundo para concientizar y fomentar el diálogo en todo cuanto se refiere a la muerte de civiles inocentes, eligiendo publicitar un ciclo de actividades en el Museo bajo un lema que convoca al exterminio de un estado en su totalidad, el Estado de Israel.

“Desde el río hasta el mar” es una consigna en boga que fue acuñada en los años 60 del siglo pasado por el egipcio Yasser Arafat. Su significado unívoco es antisemita y llama a aniquilar el estado de los judíos, que es la única democracia en Oriente Medio (y que respeta a minorías, a las mujeres y a los colectivos LGTBQI+) y no tiene significado alternativo alguno. Cualquier otra manera de interpretar este texto fuera de la región palestina-israelí es bonita, incluso romántica y lírica, quizás hasta oriental. Pero no tiene asidero alguno en la cruel realidad imperante en dicha zona del planeta. Más aún, la mayor parte de las personas que vociferan este lema como combatientes por la igualdad, en pro de los débiles, no tienen idea de qué río ni de qué mar se está hablando ni donde se encuentran desde el punto de vista geográfico.

La fuerza del arte reside en su capacidad de generar el diálogo y el debate y requiere comprender que las cosas son sumamente complejas y profundas y que no puede observarse un conflicto en forma dicotómica y superficial. Incluso el gran Picasso añadió numerosos matices de gris y diversas texturas dentro del blanco y negro escalofriante del Guernica. El título “Desde el río hasta el mar” es antisemita y llama a eliminar el Estado de los judíos y de esa manera perpetúa y continúa dando legitimidad a las acciones hostiles, al terrorismo y al asesinato de civiles inocentes, mujeres, niños y ancianos.

Solicitamos a Ud., de toda forma posible, corregir y modificar el título de esta serie de actividades y que respalden la moral y los valores que el Museo exhibe y representa.

Su llamada furtiva y poética a un genocidio es a expensas del pueblo judío. ¡No podremos permanecer callados!

"מות אזרחים תמימים"

לכבוד: צוות המוזיאון, מנהלה, אוצרים, מדריכים.

בימים אלה מפורסמת פעילות של המוזיאון תחת הכותרת "מהנהר לים". טקסט ההסבר מפרש את בחירת הכותרת כהגדרה גיאוגרפית בלבד וכסיסמה פואטית הקוראת לשוויון זכויות לעם הפלסטינאי.

מביך לראות מוזיאון מכובד, הזוכה להציג בתצוגת הקבע שלו את אחת מיצירות המופת החשובות ביותר שנעשו בעולם, המבקשת ליצור ערות ושיח בכל הקשור למות אזרחים תמימים, בוחר לפרסם פעילות מוזיאלית תחת סיסמה הקוראת להשמדת מדינה שלמה, מדינת ישראל.

"מהנהר אל הים" היא סיסמה טרנדית שהומצאה  בשנות ה-60 על ידי יאסר ערפאת המצרי. המשמעות המוחלטת האחת שלה היא אנטישמית וקוראת להשמדת מדינת היהודים, היא הדמוקרטיה היחידה במזרח התיכון (שמכבדת מיעוטים, נשים ולהטבי"ם), ואין לה שום פרשנות אחרת. כל דרך אחרת לפענח את הטקסט הזה מחוץ לאזור פלסטין-ישראל היא יפה, אפילו רומנטית ולירית, ואולי גם אוריינטלית - אבל אין לה שום אחיזה במציאות האכזרית השוכנת באזור גיאוגרפי זה של העולם. יותר מכך, מרבית האנשים הזועקים סיסמה זו כלוחמי שוויון וחופש למען החלשים, כלל לא יודעים על איזה נהר מדובר ועל איזה ים, והיכן הם ממוקמים מבחינה גיאוגרפית...

כוחה של האמנות היא לעורר שיח. להבין שהדברים מאוד מורכבים ועמוקים וכי לא ניתן להתבונן על סכסוך בצורה דיכוטומית ושטחית. אפילו פיקאסו הוסיף גוונים רבים של אפור וטקסטורות שונות בתוך השחור לבן האפל והקודר עד מאוד של הגרניקה. הכותרת "מהנהר לים" היא אנטישמית וקוראת להשמדת מדינת היהודים ובכך מנציחה וממשיכה את הלגיטימציה לפעולות של איבה, טרור ורצח כלפי אזרחים תמימים, נשים, ילדים וזקנים.
אנו מבקשים בכל לשון של בקשה – תקנו והחליפו את כותרת האירוע ועימדו מאחורי המוסר והערכים שהמוזיאון מציג ומייצג. 
הקריאה הנסתרת והפואטית שלכם לרצח עם היא על חשבון העם היהודי!! – לא נוכל לשתוק.

"Death of innocent civilians"

To: The museum staff, director, curators, instructors.

These days, the museum's activities are advertised under the title "From the river to the sea". The explanatory text interprets the choice of title as a geographical definition only and as a poetic slogan calling for equal rights for the Palestinian people.

It is embarrassing to see a respectable museum, which has the privilege of presenting in its permanent display one of the most important masterpieces ever made in the world, which seeks to create vigils and discourse regarding the death of innocent citizens, who chooses to publish museum activity under a slogan that calls for the destruction of an entire country, the State of Israel.

"From the river to the sea" is a trendy slogan invented in the 60's by the Egyptian Yasser Arafat. Its one absolute meaning is anti-Semitic and calls for the destruction of the Jewish state, which is the only democracy in the Middle East (that respects minorities, women and LGBTQ people), and it has no other interpretation. Any other way to decipher this text outside of the Palestine-Israel area may be beautiful, even romantic and lyrical , and maybe also oriental - but it has no grip on the cruel reality that resides in this geographical area of the world. Moreover, most of the people who shout this slogan as fighters for equality and freedom for the weak, do not know at all which river it is about and which sea, and where they are located geographically. 

The power of art is to stimulate discourse. To understand that things are very complex and deep and that it is not possible to observe a conflict in a dichotomous and superficial way. Even Picasso added many shades of gray and different textures within the very dark and gloomy black and white of the Guernica.

The title "From the River to the Sea" is anti-Semitic and calls for the destruction of the Jewish state, thereby perpetuating and continuing the legitimacy of acts of hostility, terrorism and murder against innocent citizens, women, children and the elderly. We ask in every language of request - please correct and change the title of the event and stand behind the morals and values that the museum presents and represents.

Your hidden and poetic call for genocide is at the expense of the Jewish people!! - We cannot be silent.
