Increase the NZ minimum wage from $18.90 to $22.10 per hour.

The issue

In New Zealand the current minimum wage is $18.90 per hour. Over a 40 hour work week adults are only making $756 per week. After paying off all necessities (rent, food, home bills, etc.) it is more often not enough money to live off of. New Zealanders cannot afford economic goods for their families with such a low amount of pay and often have to pick between different necessities, putting them in uncomfortable situations. If we increase the minimum wage from $18.90 per hour to $22.10 per hour then it would allow New Zealanders to gain a living wage of $884 per week, allowing them to live comfortably with all the necessities being easily payed off and leaving them with extra money to save.

This is the first step in closing the New Zealand poverty gap and making all New Zealanders economically equal.
