Change The Plural Form Of Rhinoceros To Rhinoceri

The Issue

Imagine one day you find yourself in the grasslands and floodplains of Eastern and Southern Africa. You spy with your little eye a rhinoceros, and then two, then two more and suddenly you know you must address these mighty creatures. You say “Why look at these rhinoceroses!”And as those clunky syllables fall from out of your mouth, a rhinoceros turns to you and sheds a tear.

How could you use such an ugly word for such majestic creatures? How could you justify saying ‘rhinoceroses’ more than once a lifetime?

This is why — and I implore you — the plural form of rhinoceros should be changed from ‘rhinoceroses’ to ‘rhinoceri’

I started this petition because...
I have always had not only a deep love and appreciation for these majestic animals but a continued fascination with linguistics. I believe with the power bestowed in the people of the world, we can rise up and blot the word ‘rhinoceroses’ from the dictionary and in its place put something better.
