On July 12, 2014 NBA player Dwight Howard tweeted #FreePalestine in response to the Israeli bombing of Gaza and it's war against the Palestinian people where over 200 men, women and children have been killed with no end in sight.  Israel has targeted civilian homes, schools, medical centers, and a cafe where 9 young people where killed at once while watching a World Cup Game.

After receiving some pressure from supporters of Israeli apartheid, Dwight Howard deleted his tweet and apolgoized for posting it saying it was a mistake. Now a racist orgainzation, Zionist Orgainzation of America, is attackign Mr. Howard and comparing his statement for freedom with the racist comments by Clippers owner Donald Sterling.  They are calling for him to be publicly condemned for saying Free Palestine and supporting an independent Palestinian state.  It has also accused Dwight Howard of hate even though he said nothign hateful.

It's unfortunate that Dwight Howard was pressured to censor himself to please a group of war-mongerers.  Where is his Freedom of Speech to say Free Palestine?  We need to defend Dwight Howard's right to say Free Palestine.

Please sign the petition in saying that Dwight Howard has a right to speak his opinion and tweet in support of freedom, justice and peace.  Do not allow this organiziaton to threaten and silence people who speak out against oppression in our society and around the world. 

We want to thank Dwight Howard for posting #FreePalestine in the first place even though he deleted it.  His action has helped spark a discussion, not only on the plight of Palestine but also a discussion on freedom of speech.
