The prime minister of Australia Must resign now
The Issue
Australians call for Anthony Albanese to resign Andrew Bolt ad David Speirs led chorusREAD MORE: Voice to Parliament fails
Everyday Australians have joined political leaders and social commentators in calling for Anthony Albanese to step down as prime minister. He should resign because the damage he has done to our country and to the very fabric of what it means to be Australian is, quite frankly, heartbreaking.
'The prime minister should think about his future. I don't think he will resign but there are international precedents there.'
Columnist Simon Benson wrote in The Australian: 'Failure of the referendum doesn't necessarily go to fatality of leadership.'
'But the question is whether there is a residual effect that goes to a broader issue of political competence and judgment.
'Is what has been exposed by the Voice reveal something endemic about how Albanese deals with the big issues?'
Everyday Australians have joined in and demanded Mr Albanese hand in his resignation immediately.
Albanese has demonstrated his hatred for Australia and our Constitution. Albanese MUST RESIGN,' one wrote on social media platform X.
'It’s a good day to be living in Australia,' another added.
'The only thing that would make it better would be for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to resign, for putting this country through such a divisive fiasco.'
A third wrote: 'How about Albanese look for a way forward for ALL Australians and how he can get onto there larger issues like cost of living, health and housing rather than be totally distracted.
'Albanese should resign and get out of the way.'
Bolt led the calls on Saturday night saying Mr Albanese 'should go' after subjecting the country to the 'poison' of the referendum.
'I just wonder now how Anthony Albanese can stay on as prime minister,' he said.
'I mean he's put us through this nightmare. He's wasted nearly $400 million worth of taxpayer's money (on the referendum).'Albanese has demonstrated his hatred for Australian people
