Petition updateProtect pigeons, and people who defend them, from abuse in parks and public places, by lawWe want safety in our parks and public places, instead of abuse

We want safety in our parks and public places - not abuse!

Pigeon abuse makes parks and public places unsafe for people. Nobody can intervene to stop it without risking their own safety. Women are particularly vulnerable and are threatened for defending pigeons.

The London mayor does nothing to defend pigeons, claiming that they are not within his jurisdiction.  What irony, that it was a London mayor, a pigeon hater, who first declared war on pigeons in 2001, giving them a bad name, which has led to pigeons being persecuted ever since!  Hitherto pigeons had been celebrated as our heroes, who saved thousands of human lives during both World Wars, as messengers, helping our nation to survive its darkest days of war.  How many people know this?

Pigeons are now kicked, chased and abused in public places.  This is disgraceful.  It is Speciesism. Adults tolerate this, and don’t consider how upsetting and intimidating it is to others, and how much it damages our society. People in authority are shamefully reluctant to do anything towards resolving this.

How can pigeons be protected under the law, to stop this cruelty?

Please share my Petition link, and the song, “Please be Nice to Pigeons” with your MP, family and friends.  I need more signatures, so that this petition can achieve success.

Children and adults love the song, “Please be Nice to Pigeons”.

There is no need to persecute pigeons. They’ve done nothing wrong, as the song says!

I have written to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, (RSPB) to ask how they intend to protect pigeons from abuse.  I have just received an unsatisfactory reply.

Please ask the RSPB to protect pigeons, at -

wildlife@rspb.org.uk

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, must be held responsible for pigeon welfare. They are trying to get out of protecting pigeons. It is their job to protect pigeons.  We need as many people to contact them as possible.  PLEASE HELP.

Can your MP help by voting to give pigeons special protection, as sentient birds, under the new Animal Welfare Sentience laws.  MPs can call for a debate on pigeon abuse in Parliament.  Will they?

Contact your MP at:-

writetothem.com

Contact celebrities, well known personalities, radio stations, charities and the media, newspapers etc to highlight the problem, and to ask for help in promoting this campaign.

I am still waiting to hear from Classic fm, the BBC and The Imperial War Museum. Please feel free to contact anyone who might help.  I need everyone to speak against the cruelty. I cannot achieve this alone.

The Culture of Cruelty and Acceptance of Abuse of pigeons must be stopped.

Contact the Department for Education and ask them to feature animal welfare and pigeon welfare, in the National Curriculum for Schools.  Children should learn to respect pigeons and all animals, from an early age.

If you see pigeons being abused, or experience abuse for defending pigeons, please report these incidents to the police, local authorities, the RSPCA or the property team at National Trust properties, so that they are aware that this is happening.

Pigeon abuse is naked aggression.  It is animal abuse.  It must be stopped.

Thank you.
