There are few things more depraved than targeting vulnerable and defenceless pigeons, teaching children to do the same, and ignoring the pleas of anyone who tries to stop this.
In Huddersfield recently, 5 youths kicked a pigeon to death. It was reported to police. Nevertheless, the RSPB, RSPCA, and animal charities will not defend pigeons. Local authorities think pigeon abuse is “just part of everyday life”. I have written to my MP, and the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, but have no response.
Many people want pigeon abuse to stop, but anyone who is in a position to stop the abuse, refuses to take any action to stop it.
St Francis of Assisi preached to the birds, and treated all creatures with kindness and respect, and as his brothers and sisters.
