Let’s follow the teachings of St Francis of Assisi, who showed kindness and respect to all birds and animals. He always approached animals quietly, so as never to frighten them. He preached to the birds.
Teaching children not to abuse pigeons is so important. No child should be taught to hate.
Pigeons were loved and fed, as our war heroes, until 2001, when the London mayor, a pigeon-hater, declared war on pigeons, falsely accusing them of being a hazard to health. This has been declared untrue by vets and the RSPB. The flock of pigeons and the birdseed sellers were banished from Trafalgar Square and people were indoctrinated to hate and abuse pigeons.
Pigeons are still abused to this day, because of the hatred of one man. The media and politicians are extremely negative towards them and parents even encourage children to kick and chase pigeons. It is absolutely heartbreaking.
It is for this reason that I created my petition to “Protect Pigeons, and People who defend them, from Abuse in Parks and Public Places, by Law”. It is at the link below. We just want the abuse to stop.

No living creature deserves to be abused, particularly those who played such an important role in helping to save our nation during its darkest days of war.
My Petition aims to get pigeon abuse outlawed and stopped, so that everyone can enjoy parks and public places freely, without having to see pigeon abuse taking place, and without fear of being abused - verbally or physically - for defending pigeons.
Can your MP help by voting to give pigeons special protection, as sentient birds, under the new Animal Welfare Sentience laws. MPs can also call for a debate on pigeon abuse in Parliament. Will they?

Contact celebrities, well known personalities, charities and the media, newspapers etc to highlight the problem, and to ask for help in promoting this campaign.
I am still waiting to hear from Classic fm, the BBC and The Imperial War Museum. Please feel free to contact anyone who might help. I need everyone to speak against the cruelty. I cannot achieve this alone.
The Culture of Cruelty and Acceptance of Abuse of pigeons must be exposed, outlawed and stopped.
Contact the Department for Education and ask them to feature animal welfare - particularly pigeon welfare, in the National Curriculum for Schools. Children should learn to respect pigeons and all animals from an early age.
If you see pigeons being abused, or experience abuse yourself for defending pigeons, please report these incidents, for example, to the police, local authorities, the RSPCA or the property team at National Trust properties, so that they are aware that this is happening.
Pigeon abuse is naked aggression. It is animal abuse. It must be stopped.
