I am very pleased to say that my Petition to Stop the Abuse of Pigeons in Parks, Gardens and Streets and Protect Pigeons by Law, has now reached 10,000 signatures!  I am most grateful to everyone for all their support and encouragement in achieving this goal!

I have today submitted my Petition online to the Prime Minister, for his attention, and will let you know as soon as I receive a response.  For your information, a copy of my Petition Submission letter is below.

As I have mentioned in the letter, this petition will remain open for the time being, as I feel that its presence in the internet is needed.

Let’s look forward to a positive response!

For the attention of the Rt Hon Boris Johnson, MP, The Prime Minister

Dear Prime Minister,

Please read. Please consider. Please respond.

Our pigeon friends urgently need your help.  We need protection for innocent pigeons, who are abused and persecuted, just for existing.  This is Speciesism.

10,000 people and I would like to hear from you on the subject of my petition:-

"Stop the abuse of pigeons in parks, gardens and streets, and protect pigeons by law"

This petition is "oven ready" for your response.

10,000 people have signed my petition.  They have provided 187 reasons for signing and over 419 comments on the 83 petition updates, which you should read and consider.

We seek to change public opinion from the state that it is in, which has resulted in pigeons being regularly abused and persecuted in public places, often by children, encouraged by adults or other children, and sometimes even by older people.  Let’s start in schools and at home, by teaching children that pigeons should be respected and not hurt, kicked or chased.

We realise that you have already made some progress with documents and proposed animal welfare laws, but our concern is that pigeons need to be specifically protected under UK law in future, in a way that is effective in stopping their abuse.

We all look forward to hearing from you. My petition can be viewed at the following link:-

My petition will remain open for the time being, as its presence on the internet remains needed to assist you, as our Prime Minister, to achieve the necessary correction of public opinion.

Yours sincerely

Sylvia Browning, Mrs
