Seraph's Law is a proposed felony Law brought about by the recent Casey Anthony trial. The concept, or commission of the Law, punishable by fines and imprisonment, would be to prevent anyone, be it an individual, a group of individual's, a company, or corporation from profiting in any way, shape, or form from the untimely death of a minor.

This Law would be an adaptation of the Son of Sam Law, which prevents convicted criminals from profiting from their crimes, as well as Laws set about by the US Supreme Court protecting Minors from being used for elicit gains. It would in no way hinder any efforts for non-profit organizations from raising funds in memorandum of a minor, but instead would put forth that any moneys made from anything relating to a case involving a child's death be given to charity.

Every American has a right to have their say in court, and the justice system is designed for a fair trial. The law would not hinge on proof of guilt or innocence of the accused. The main focus is the preservation of, and respect for the memory of a minor, and their families. If said family, attorneys, media, or any other persons, groups, or organizations seek to gain financially from the death of a minor, the Law would be put in place to prevent such.

We all have watched the recent events unfold in the Casey Anthony trial, and the ensuing media frenzy. Outrage, shock, protesting have fed the flames, and the result is people are making money from this tragedy. This MUST stop!

Whether you agree or disagree with the verdicts handed out is secondary. I think anyone with a conscience can agree that for anyone to profit from interviews, book, or movie deals, TV interviews, etc. all stemming from this type of crime goes against the very nature of what is just and fair.

We must act! The very fabric of what is morally right is dwindling in this country, and we as it's citizens have to make our stand.

((Note - The name for Seraph's Law came about because our children are our little angels. The closest thing to our hearts, just as Seraphim are the angels closest to God. This is NOT about religion, or about what you spiritually believe, it is about preventing crimes against children from becoming a money making scheme))
