Perth needs a surf park at Tompkins Park in Alfred Cove!

Perth has around 80,000 people that try to surf regularly, and over 200,000 people that would like to learn to surf, making surfing participation greater than even cricket, and second only to AFL football.
We have plenty of great beaches and a beach lifestyle. Unfortunately, Perth has poor, unreliable, crowded surfing conditions for most of the year. Recently, surfers have face an increased number of encounters with sharks.
We support the development of a quality surf park facility at Tompkins Park in Alfred Cove, a large accessible sports hub close to the Perth CBD.
Every hour, the surf park will deliver up to 1,000 waves up to 2 metres in height. It is designed for kids and families, as well as all levels of surfers. It will be widely used by locals and tourists, providing jobs and economic growth as well as a being unique sports environment.
W.A. is Western Australia, not Wait Awhile - This project needs to go ahead.
