It's up to the community to stand up and protect vulnerable and defenceless animals through legislative change to ensure the punishment fits the crime. In a recent case of animal cruelty perpetrated in Bulla, Victoria against more than 40 horses - a maximum 2 year penalty is grossly inadequate and not in step with community expectations. We demand our Premier personally intervene and rectify this situation.
