VAR is having a very detrimental effect on the match day experience of football matches. We believe that football is a game for human beings and controlled by human beings. And being human means that mistakes will be made, by managers, players and officials. The fallibility of match officials has always been accepted, and it could be argued that it actually enhances the spectacle.

Football is a game of emotion, and any attempt to sanitize it and make all decisions 100% perfect will  remove a very important part of the games attraction. Discussing "dodgy" decisions after the match, at work or in the pub, was always an important part of being a spectator.

The current situation is greatly harming the spectacle in many ways.
