Residents of Thatcham & any member of the public that cares about the local area should oppose this proposed housing development by signing this petition because this development would have a tremendous negative impact on Thatcham in general, specifically residents close to the site on Lower Way.

Lower way is already used as a rat run by traffic & the volume of traffic increases if there are any problems on the A4, This development would increase the flow of traffic further on Lower Way & in the area in general. Lower Way also floods every time it rains due to insufficient drainage.

Many resident's & non resident's use the field (proposed site) for recreational activities such as walking, bike ride's, dog walking,picnics, playing games, flying kites etc & always have done. It is our little piece of enjoyable green space which is enjoyed & appreciated by many.

Adding yet another housing estate will over populate the local area which will cause a number of problems, some of which will be a lack of school placements, not being able to register with a local GP or NHS Dentist & no doubt an increase in crime.

Also many of us residents believe that building further houses on the proposed site will have a negative impact on the wildlife at the nature reserve because of an increase in human waste, refuge, noise polution, etc which will in turn increase the carbon footprint.
