Hi there...My Name is Jonathan Salaiz and I am starting this petition to officially release the classic broadway mega hit The Phantom Of The Opera (1988 Original Broadway Cast). 

Starring: Michael Crawford, Sarah Brightman, Steve Barton, Cris Groenendaal, Nick Wyman, Judy Kaye, and David Romano. 

This show was recorded on two tapes in May of 1988 by Richard Stucker under the direction of Mrs. Betty L. Corwin.

Myself, as a huge Phantom PHan, am very grateful they preserved this video history for us future generations to possibly see one day. 

The 2 hour archived footage now rests in the hands of the hard working New York Public Library (Theatre On Film and Tape Archive) staff but It is currently restricted to view only by special approval as of April 7th, 2023. 

With the closing of Phantom on broadway after 30+ years, we hope as PHans to get to have the original Broadway production released on DVD and possibly Bluray. 

Currently there is only ONE official recording of "Phantom" released in 2013, but it is different than the original legendary production the world has come to love. 

Please, Broadway theatre unions, come together on an agreement and have this historic broadway show released on DVD/Bluray to give us one final chance to enjoy.. .the ORIGINAL music of the night...
