NO KILLING DAY

NO KILLING DAY
Why this petition matters

U.S. Killing Statistics
- Police Officers shoot and kill approximately 1000 civilians each year in America.
- There are over 16,000 homicides per year in America.
- There are approximately 39,000 deaths by gun violence per year in America.
- There are approximately 5000 victims of race/ethnicity/ancestry motivated hate crimes each year in America. 100 are murdered.
- In the last 50 years there has been 163 mass shootings in the United States.
- This list does not include deaths by domestic violence, gang violence or Terrorist attacks; Nor the 250,000 Cold Cases in America that have been accumulated since 1980. (Cold Cases increases by about 6,000 each year. These are killings unaccounted with above statistics.)
NO KILLING DAY is about establishing a national holiday or day of observance that for 24 hours achieve ZERO killings within the United States. And a day to encourage every U.S. citizen to promote LOVE, COMPASSION AND EMPATHY towards all human beings. Also promote discussions, town hall meetings, community, government and law enforcement intercourse about indifference. (i.e. racism, systemic racism, injustice, etc.)
We would like May 25th of every year to be the day.
