Having our flags is the right to express ourselves and the freedom of speech. The school allows political flags and American flags but now they are  taking away our rights to protest and freedom of speech. The previous principal, Dexter Day, was accepting of our pride flags but the new principal, Jayson Sanders, has banned pride flags from being on school grounds and if seen with them you will be written up, yelled at, and forced to put them away. Girls and people of the Lgbtqia+ community are being bullied and harassed everyday but the school is doing nothing about it. Instead they are trying to make the issue worse by taking away spirit week. Doing so will cause many other people regarding this situation higher chances of being harassed, assaulted, and bullied. We need to step up and fix this. If the principal or teachers won’t listen then maybe the school board will. Thank you for your help.
