It's July 14th! Bastille Day! The day when the peasants rose up against the aristocracy in France and showed them who was boss! Well, guess what? We (the peasants here at SOTZ) still need your help to overthrow the aristocratic decision-making happening up in Albany with OUR BRIDGE. We are trying to raise $2,000 for our Fall 2018 war chest. WE ARE STILL FIGHTING: We are very excited that the senate took a vote on the bill back in June, and that a large majority voted YES to preserving the Tappan Zee name on our bridge. But while the senate held a vote, the assembly did not, so in the fall, we need to resume the fight to get these bills re-introduced in January 2019! In other words, we can still win, BUT... we still have a long fight to go! On that note, some great news: 2. I AM NOW A VOLUNTEER! Now that we have our tax exemption and the most labor intensive part of the movement is completed, I have decided for the foreseeable future to continue my work as a VOLUNTEER executive director. In other words, any donations you make from this point forward are not only tax deductible, but... will ONLY go towards the actual movement. That's my way of saying THANK YOU to all of you for supporting me and SOTZ. On that note, an important note: 3. WE NEED FUNDS FOR THE FALL: The success we had so far did not come cheap. It cost money for banners. For signs. Travel to Albany. Websites. Advertising. Photocopies. Ink toner. Pens. And more. We are now trying to raise $2,000 to give us a war chest for September.
