Tell them that voting yes is not a betrayal of Andrew Cuomo. In fact, voting 'no' is a far greater partisan statement that voting yes for this amazing compromise of a bill. Let's go team! P.S. - To all those who criticized me for not delivering the petition months ago, I hope you now realize why I did not: it would have been a waste of an opportunity. Not only are there now two bills pending in the legislature, but we now have nearly 110,000 signatures, a far cry from the 95,000 we had when people were clamoring for me to "do what you said you were going to do". NOW is the right time to do so, and a minute sooner would not have worked. Thankfully, I don't care too much what people think when I know that what I am doing is the right thing. Andrew Cuomo tried to discredit me publicly--he failed. The Journal News tried to discredit me--they failed. The first board of directors of Save Our Tappan Zee tried to discredit me (minus Jimmy, who is still with us)--they failed too. And Reclaim New York totally abandoned us when the going got tough--a bunch of over-funded and under-couraged do-nothings---I honestly have no idea what Reclaim New York does at all for the citizens of New York. Do you? Bottom line, everyone thought I would cave in and give up; everyone thought Save Our Tappan Zee, Inc. would just go away after being ridiculed constantly. Well, Mr. Governor, sorry to disappoint you, but not a chance: WE'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. And lookie lookie, the senate bill is almost on the floor, and the assembly bill close behind. WE HAVE GOT A SHOT. So please, take off from work on Thursday, and please, come to Albany with me. It may be one of the most memorable experiences of your life... And these may be the most important and crucial two weeks we have left. Let's go do it. Let's go save our Tappan Zee.
