Time to protest! I just returned from the South Nyack board of trustees meeting and... we now have authorization to protest at anytime on both the 9W overpass and the South Broadway overpass. Both go directly over 287—it’s impossible to cross the Tappan Zee without driving under these two overpasses. The strategy: purchase three oversized vinyl banners for each overpass, for us to hold up on 8 foot poles for all passing motorists to see: 1. I Love Our Tappan Zee! 2. Say No to the Cuomo! 3. www.SaveOurTappanZee.org (The above are tentative slogans for the banners) Approximately 140,000 people cross the Tappan Zee Bridge every day. Our mission: to get even more people to sign the petition and keep reminding Albany that this issue is as alive as ever. How can you help? Two ways: 1. Help us purchase the banners! Each banner will cost about $100, so we are trying to raise at least $600 to pay for the creation of the banners. You can make a donation at www.saveourtappanzee.org 2. Come protest with us! We will need a minimum of six people per overpass in South Nyack, so 12. The more people, the better. When? To be determined, but we hope starting in the next two weeks. For now, if you’re willing to come and hold up one side of a banner for an hour or two with me, that would be fantastic. Send an email to saveourtappanzee@gmail.com We are still making progress... -Dr. Monroe Mann, PhD, Esq, MBA Director, Save Our Tappan Zee, Inc.
