Hey Team Tappan Zee, We just had the first meeting in Tarrytown of what is soon to be our new not-for-profit corporation to regain the name of our bridge. Pictured is (left to right): Alan, Clifton, Dena, Raymond, and Monroe (me). None of us ever met before. We left as fast friends joined together by our common cause. We’ve established the initial board of directors (composed of differing political affiliations), discussed a multiple of advertising ideas, including one particular Westchester/Rockland competition that we’re going to be launching, as well as various other options we can use to get the word out. We also discussed additional fundraising efforts and strategies, including merchandise we can sell to raise even more. Finally, we went over the media strategy and developed additional ways to get the media to cover our story and progress. Bottom line, the train is about to leave the station. Next stops: finalizing the corporate legalities, opening bank account, withdrawing the GoFundMe donations, updating website with all latest info, and... getting started. We will be holding a public meeting for anyone who wishes to attend shortly, probably after Christmas and before New Years.
