ALLOW NURSING GRADUATES TO GAIN THEIR LICENSE TO HELP IN THIS CRISIS. (Cancel RENR exams)

The Issue

Bachelor of Science in Nursing graduates and Final year Nursing Students across the Caribbean are hindered from working as a nurse because of the postponement of the RENR Exams come April 2020.

These graduates and students should be given their Registered Nursing License with immediate effect removing RENR exams enabling them to be able to work during this crisis.

Many graduates are barred from the Nursing council from working as a Nurse in Jamaica and across the Caribbean because of the 3 tries to the RENR exams.

Graduates that fails these exams are not able to do a 4th trial and faced the penalties of paying 3.5 million back in student loans without be able to work. They have the degree and are highly trained but are unable to gain a Registered Nursing License to work. This height of wickedness to our Nursing students needs to be addressed by CARICOM immediately.

A nursing graduate is only given 3 tries to the RENR exam which is only administered every 6 months making it difficult for them to work. These exams should be cancelled or the 3 tries removed making the duration of time for a nurse to sit RENR exam unlimited and done on a monthly basis.

Your signature and support is needed in order to grant our Nurses access to aid their country in this crisis.
