In Illinois, we are not permitted to own or use suppressors. 42 other states allow the ownership and use of suppressors, but Illinois is one of the eight states that doesn’t. The purpose of this is for predator hunting. (Hunting coyotes, foxes, fur-bearing animals and also nuisance animals.) This would allow hunters to predator hunt the right way. You hunt predators at night at a suppressor is almost necessary to be successful. This change would also allow hunters to hunt at night for predators without disturbing neighbors or the surrounding area. 42 states allow suppressors, and I believe Illinois should as well.
