UNO Hockey was undefeated at Baxter Arena in the first half of the 2015-16 season. Then, the curse of the black jerseys returned. The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) mandated that teams would wear their dark "road" jerseys at home in the second half of the conference season. Black jerseys at home were considered "cursed" by longtime Maverick fans, as the team went 8-24 in the 2003-04 season wearing the dark home jerseys.

We are petitioning the NCHC to allow UNO Hockey to wear the "winning" white jerseys at home for the remainder of the season. Only the NCHC can make this change and "reverse the curse."
