Heath for Hall of Fame - #Heath4HOF

JoJo Heath is a Monessen, PA sports legend!
So why is it that 32 (thirty-two!!) years after he retired from professional football, he hasn’t been recognized by the Mon Valley All Sports Hall of Fame? It’s an honor that he deserves. It’s an honor that his family and friends deserve. And it’s a long overdue honor that the legacy of Monessen Greyhound football deserves.
JoJo’s record speaks for itself:
- 1976 - Graduated from Monessen High School, where he was a three-year starter in football and basketball.
- 1976-1979 - Recruited by the University of Pittsburgh
- 1980 – Drafted in the sixth round by the Cincinnati Bengals.
- 1981 – Played with the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 1982 – Played for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.
- 1983 – Played for the British Columbia Lions in the CFL.
- 1984 – Played for the Houston Gamblers in the USFL.
- 1985 – Ottawa Rough Riders in the CFL.
- 1987 – Played with the New York Jets.
- 1989 – He played for the short-lived Pittsburgh Arena Football League, Pittsburgh Gladiators
In total, JoJo played three years in the NFL, three years in the CFL, and one year in the USFL.
After retiring from his professional football career, JoJo served briefly as an assistant football coach at Monessen High School and volunteered his time with the Monessen Midget League Football organization.
