Too many kids don't look both ways before crossing the road. I'm sure this is why flashing lights and stop signs were added to school buses in the first place. How many times have you seen kids get off the bus and run across the road without looking?  How many near misses do we need before kids start being hit by cars and killed?

All of this is because people won't leave their house 5 minutes earlier to have time to allow time for a school bus.  There is no other reason for not using a safety device.  Bottom line is that flashing lights and a stop sign prevent kids from getting hurt.  And if not killing a kid isn't enough incentive to not run these stop signs heavy fines and demerits should be.  

We need to stop catering to people who are running late. What's next no more 30 KM zones?  Remove the playground and school zone signs?
