With the intent to promote and preserve community cooperation and out of respect from one business owner to another, we the undersigned respectfully request that our community leaders, mayor, city council members and county board of supervisors pursue comprehensive impact studies on the potential risks and benefits of the proposed Heartland Co-op project currently being planned for the northwest corner of Nutmeg across the road from the Overland Sheep building complex and llama farm

These studies should assess economic, traffic, environmental, social and tourism issues and the proper citing of this large industrial facility so as to avoid quality of life nuisance injuries to nearby neighbors.

We do not ask that any of our community leaders take a side on this issue but rather that they postpone forming an opinion until these issues and all options are considered.

 Given the diverse range of interests in this matter, we ask that a citizen committee be formed with members from all areas of our county to work with experts to do so.

 We also ask the supervisors to postpone any further negotiations and representations to and with the Heartland Co-op until this is done and we have a valid opportunity for public comment.

 Asking for this delay and signing this petition should not and does not in any way indicate our support pro or con for this project nor should it be interpreted as such - this request only represents our desire for reasonable and prudent preliminary investigation.
