Greetings from Seniors Hub Dwarka, a registered NGO for senior citizens.

We seek your indulgence to make Indira Gandhi Hospital at Dwarka fully operational in view of the 3rd Corona wave.

Background

We had started online petition -  https://chng.it/XCGSSZhM - on 16th April 2021 at the start of 2nd wave of Corona, for the start of the 1725-bedded hospital, which was conceived by Late Shri Sahib Singh Verma ji  1998 or so and foundation station of the same was laid by Late Smt Sheila Dixit ji. This “under-construction” hospital remained as it is while the current pandemic Corona period wanted it the most. 

During 2nd wave, Govts were running from one place to the other i.e. Ram Lila Ground, Sant Nirankari Maidan or other places for making “make shift covid centres” but none thought of this hospital for reasons best known to them.

When we, at Seniors Hub Dwarka, a registered NGO for senior citizens of Dwarka, took up this issue online, within weeks this petition was viewed by over 15,000 persons putting pressure on Authorities that they should look at this facility lying vacant. Media also started covering the same – Times Now, TOI, NBT, Dainik Jagran, CitySpidey, KrantiOdisha to name few highlighted this.

While it got the support of the Local NGOs, Dwarka Advocates Bar Bench went to High Court for opening. Same way, leaders of the political parties also took note of the same and started putting pressure.

All through our members at Seniors Hub Dwarka were sending mails to Hon’ble LG of Delhi, Hon’ble CM and Health Minister of Delhi on this subject.

Current Situation

The Hospital is operational partially with facility of covid beds and OPD facilities, one of the photos is being shared.

Our Request

In view of Delhites already in the 3rd wave, we request that this Indira Gandhi Hospital at Dwarka be opened fully for the good of the general public

To Hon'ble LG and CM of Delhi !!!

Greetings from Seniors Hub Dwarka, a registered NGO set up for the senior citizens of Dwarka subcity, majority of which are retired Government officials.

While we appreciate the efforts being put in by the Delhi Government to save Delhites from COVID pandemic, we see difficult times ahead looking at the recent surge in Corona cases.

As for Dwarka is concerned, there is not a single Govt Hospital which can accommodate the general public except one under-construction 1725 bed hospital in sector 9, Dwarka. This hospital was promised to be made functional in 2020 but is not made so far. There may be some last minute glitches.

It will be of great help to the people of Dwarka , if you could spare some time to visit this hospital and plug the loopholes, which you are capable of Sir, so that it starts functioning immediately as it is required now more looking at the surge in Corona cases.

We sincerely request you to make this hospital function immediately.
