WHY IS THIS PETITION IMPORTANT?

TOWN OF LOS GATOS WANTS TO SHUT MY SHORT-TERM RENTAL DOWN JANUARY 31, 2012. 

1. Because there still are, and have been for many years, many other vacation rentals in Los Gatos that the Town has allowed; therefore, the Town is discriminating against The Lavender Lady of Los Gatos business and Lynley Kerr (Fenchel) Hogan.                                                      
2. Because government should not be able to prohibit you from renting your own home.                                                                                              
3. Because the Town's many events held in front of the Lavender Lady home and nearby are much greater of a nuisance to the neighborhood than The Lavender Lady business itself.
4. Because The Lavender Lady business is providing many benefits for the Town of Los Gatos, local businesses, and its residents.              
5. Because there is great need for a temporary, fully furnished home rental in Los Gatos' Downtown.    
6. Because the Lavender Lady of Los Gatos, residing in the Downtown of Los Gatos just east of Glen Ridge, is a discreet upscale business with upscale clientele in a 2X award-winning home which has been renovated entirely by the owner, Lynley Kerr Hogan, and is and always will be beautifully maintained by Lynley so long as she owns it. The home was chosen to represent Los Gatos in the book for travelers “Explore Silicon Valley”. From the porch of the home, one will enjoy the Cat’s Hill Bike Race, Halloween, Holiday Parade, and Horse Carriage Rides, as well as events at CB Hannegan’s Rest/Bar on Bachman.  The LG Museum, LG Diner and St. Mary’s Church are all on Tait Avenue corners.
7. Because the Lavender Lady business is providing the family's only income.  
8. Because without the Lavender Lady business, Lynley and her family will suffer unnecessary hardships, such as loss of home.
