Jacinda must not ban 'The Kashmir Files' in New Zealand

Jacinda must not ban 'The Kashmir Files' in New Zealand
The issue
On 19 January 1990 an ethnic cleansing began in the state of Kashmir in India where 300,000 individuals were forced to leave their homeland and live as refugees in their own country. Thousands were massacred.
The events that led to this pogrom and the consequences have been depicted in a film called 'The Kashmir Files' which was released internationally on 11 March 2022.
Made on the lines of 'Schindler's List', the film has received widespread global acclaim and is running successfully in Australia, UK, USA, Canada and other countries.
The New Zealand Certification Office has passed the 'The Kashmir Files' for release with a R18 certificate.
HOWEVER vested interests, the ones who had sponsored the pogrom 30 years ago, are putting pressure on Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and other officials including the NZ Police, to stop the release of the film in New Zealand. This is so that the truth does not come out. The film was slated for release in New Zealand on 24 March 2022 but has now been put on hold due to pressure from groups that support the perpatrators of the pogrom. The Certification Office is said to be reviewing the certification.
WE URGE the government, the NZ Police and other officials to uphold the rule of law and the principles of free speech and not give in to terrorists and their backers.
The world must know the truth of why 400,000 people were brutally thrown out of their homes, massacred, raped, tortured and made refugees in their own country.
