Even with Covid-19 in the country the IBTS are searching for people who are eligible donors to give blood. What this petition is symbolising is that a lot of gay men are in complete health and they are willing to give blood but the country does not allow them to. They are only allowed to if they have remained abstinent for 12 months. What this petition wants is to bring that down to an individualised risk assessment which can help many blood shortages around the country and the world
