Nash Grier has frequently displayed his homophobic, sexist and racist qualities over a range of social media. His fanbase consists almost entirely of impressionable young people, who as fans are likely to adopt his values and attitudes. A great many people look up to Grier, and considering this I believe it is extremey harmful to expose them to the hateful views he so happily parades. If Vine, YouTube and Twitter were to place a lifelong ban on Grier, it would demonstrate that this behaviour cannot and will not be tolerated. If these networks do not take action against Grier, it will demonstrate to other influential internet personalities that behaviour such as this will have no repercussions, enouraging and breeding damaging attitudes. If we can get enough people involved, I really think we could end this problem here and keep social media as the hate free and incredible place it should be.
