The city of Sochi is participating in this cruel and inhumane activity in order to "prevent disgrace," should Olympic visitors become aware of the animals, according to the head of the pest-control service hired by the city. The city has refused to participate previously in a mass sterilization program that local animal activists have recommended. The true disgrace is that such a barbaric activity is employed in order to "successfully" host a civilized event.
