We Demand the Resignation of Ken Klippenstein from The Intercept

Journalist and political commentator Fiorella Isabel of The Convo Couch had recently been involved in a Twitter discussion and had voiced her personal experience on a controversial topic.
As a rebuttal to Fiorella's personal family experience, Ken Klippenstein of The Intercept posted personal information regarding Fiorella's past and tried to discredit her opinion using an arrest record that happened over a decade ago.
This happened on August 24, 2021 and multiple Twitter Users had seen the exchange. The tweet was heavily reported but Ken had deleted the Tweet before Twitter took it down.
Ken, a self-proclaimed Investigative Reporter doxxed a woman of color Journalist for having a differing opinion on a subject and then mocked her in the same tweet.
According to the SPJ Code of Ethics, a Journalist should:
- Support the open and civil exchange of views, even views they find repugnant.
- Recognize that legal access to information differs from an ethical justification to publish or broadcast.
- Weigh the consequences of publishing or broadcasting personal information.
- Explain ethical choices and processes to audiences. Encourage a civil dialogue with the public about journalistic practices, coverage and news content.
- Acknowledge mistakes and correct them promptly and prominently. Explain corrections and clarifications carefully and clearly.
- Abide by the same high standards they expect of others.
Ken clearly does not support the open and civil exchange of views.
Ken clearly didn't weigh the consequence of publishing Fiorella's personal information. As now Fiorella's character is being wrongly attacked and discredited.
Ken clearly pursued an unfounded and unjustified attack on Fiorella.
Ken has not acknowledged his massive mistake or reached out to apologize to Fiorella.
And Ken clearly doesn't abide by the same high standards he expects of "right wingers" when they dox protestors as he just showed the internet by doxxing Fiorella.
The Intercept is "an award-winning news organization dedicated to holding the powerful accountable through fearless, adversarial journalism."
Are you going to maintain employment of a "reporter" who doxxes the powerless and is focused on Twitter disputes contrary to the "focus" your organization proclaims to have?
WE DEMAND the immediate resignation of Ken Klippenstein from The Intercept since he clearly cannot be taken seriously as a journalist or investigative reporter after doxxing somebody for having a differing opinion.
It was a classist, sexist and disgusting attack from Ken Klippenstein.
WE DEMAND a public apology from Ken Klippenstein as well as from The Intercept organization.
WE the Petition Signers will not relent until we see his resignation and apologies.
