Demand for Justice and Immediate Release of Mohamed Abdalla a father and son
We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the unjust detention of Mohamed Abdalla, a Sudanese American with a two-year-old son who is currently held without bond despite the court initially approving it. This miscarriage of justice highlights severe due process violations and raises alarming questions about fairness in the judicial proceedings. The arrest date was on 10/07/2024 and he is still being held at Fairfax county detention center with no evidence to this day.
Key Concerns:
1. Prosecutors’ Appeal of Bond: After bond was granted, prosecutors swiftly intervened, leading to the reversal of this decision. This practice undermines the impartiality of the judicial process.
2. Collusion and Lack of Judicial Independence: Reports suggest possible collusion between certain judges and prosecutors, jeopardizing the integrity of the legal system.
3. Violation of Human Rights: Holding an individual without bond, despite a prior approval, denies Mr. Abdalla his fundamental right to a fair and timely release.
4. We urge the immediate reinstatement of Mohamed Abdalla’s bond, pending a fair trial or further investigation. Unlawfully detaining individuals without just cause erodes public trust in the legal system and compromises the principles of justice and equality.
Our Demands:
1. The immediate release of Mohamed Abdalla on the approved bond.
2. An independent investigation into the prosecutorial appeal and judicial conduct involved.
3. Assurance of fair treatment for all detainees, including Mohamed Abdalla, regardless of nationality or status.
4. Justice must be swift, fair, and transparent. We will not remain silent while an innocent individual is held unlawfully. The law is meant to protect the innocent, not serve as a tool for oppression.
We respectfully call upon the relevant authorities to act with integrity and urgency in this matter.
