Guard the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier against Desecration

The Issue

“Freedom Is A Light For Which Many Men Have Died In Darkness.”

Service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our lives and liberty deserve the respect and gratitude of every American. Yet the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier in Philadelphia is routinely desecrated by hooligans and delinquents who light fires, strew trash everywhere, sit atop the sarcophagus, and roast marshmallows over the memorial flame.

A stone’s throw away, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall are guarded against such abuse day and night, as is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington, Virginia. The Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier, flanked by the hallowed remains of 2,000 soldiers of Washington’s Army, deserves the same dignity. We demand no less.
