Ensure the Fundamental Right of Freedom of Speech and Expression

The Issue

We, the people residing in the State of West Bengal, are not feeling safe to express our own views on political matters and to criticize the Hon'ble Government of West Bengal freely. Our activities do not involve any of the followings:-

1. Threat to the Security of The State.
2. Threat to the Maintenance of Friendly Relations with the Foreign States.
3. Threat to the Public Order.
4. Threat to the Contempt of Court.
5. Threat to the Maintenance of Sovereignty and Integrity of India.

The recent activities of the Police forces under the Hon'ble Government of West Bengal leave us in a trauma of being arrested for expression of free thoughts and for criticizing the Government.

Moreover, its in the news already, that the CID under the Hon'ble Government of West Bengal is probing over the post criticizing the Hon'ble State Government and the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Ms. Mamata Banerjee. We think, this is a direct intervention to censure the public views and opinions which is against the essence and heritage of the Indian Democracy.

In accordance with the Preamble to the Constitution of India, we request an assurance for the Liberty of thoughts, expression, belief, faith and worship.
