I don’t think I really had much of a chance to send a letter to the Henson Company, and I think there’s no physical contact address to Craig Shemin. Since I feel that he should know the Muppets need to leave Disney. I have also messaged Steve Whitmire on Instagram about my thoughtful stuff about the Muppets, Jim Henson and Kermit.
It feels like the Henson family was forced by Disney to say allegations to have Kermit get a new voice actor, since Disney is a billion dollar corporation with lawyers and accountants. And that people are criticizing Matt Vogel as a horrible Kermit, and that when he was working with Disney and Brian Henson to have Kermit be Jim Henson’s version of the character. I think Matt Vogel means make it towards Disney’s version. I’m not sure if Matt’s Kermit was Jim. As Matt says “my Kermit was Jim”.
I also feel like Jim Henson was a bit obsessed with Disney, I think he talked about Disney several times, as well as Kevin Clash obsessed with Disney on his Elmo documentary. It doesn’t make sense that Jim wouldn’t want to give Kermit away to Sesame Workshop, but to Disney instead, and what would happen between Jim Henson as Kermit living at Disney World and Kermit having to do segments for Sesame Street?
Anyway my point is if I was Jim, I wouldn’t want to sell/give Kermit to neither Sesame Workshop or Disney or anyone or any other company. I also hope you can please answer my thoughts that I feel Disney forced the Henson’s say things to the media, and how people say Matt Vogel is a horrible Kermit, even if Matt tries to make it Jim’s version, I think he means Disney’s version. And that I felt Jim Henson was obsessed with Disney.
Steve Whitmire responded I think you make thoughtful points. What do you think would have forced the Hensons to say something that Disney would have wanted them to say?
I responded to Steve, maybe Disney had also forced the Henson’s to believe that Disney is doing a great job with owning the Muppets, even though I don’t think they are. And I still wish and want Henson to own the Muppets and Sesame Street franchises again.
One of my international friends on social media has messaged Steve on Instagram saying “Frank Oz believes Disney made Jim Henson sick and die”. Steve has responded “I think many of us felt that because Jim was under a lot of stress over the deal his resistance to being sick was low”.
I feel like possibly Jim thought Disney negotiations were a terrible idea, especially since Disney would want to acquire the Sesame Street characters. And that also if I Jim, I would exclude Kermit from the sale to Disney, besides the Sesame Street characters to be protecting Kermit, and that they had a personal relationship and connection with each other. And that Henson would still be able to have creative control over his own.
I also hope to get more signatures, since I don’t think I gotten anymore signatures since a little while ago.
