Save the guinea pig sanctuary or 200+ guinea pigs may die.

Save the guinea pig sanctuary or 200+ guinea pigs may die.

The Issue

The Guinea Pig Sanctuary may be forced to close it's doors forever. The State of Massachusetts has set forth regulations that are difficult for the Guinea Pig Sanctuary to currently comply with.

The Guinea Pig Sanctuary is a multifaceted organisation. They don't just help animals, they help people too. They collect nonperishables and clothing that they give away for free, at the Sanctuary's physical location in Salisbury. If you are hungry, you can pick up food for your family there. If you're struggling to feed your pets, even cats or dogs, they will give you food for them too.  Their love doesn't stop at guinea pigs.

The owners of the sanctuary are not rebelling against the regulations, they just need more time to comply and find a solution.

They are desperate for some time to collect monetary donations. Time to hopefully find a plumbing company willing to donate their services.Time to come up with a back up plan should they be shut down. Time to figure out how to save the abandon who they've worked so hard to heal. Just time.

During the pandemic, they have been swamped with cases of abused and unwanted animals, many of which who were abandoned in dumpsters or removed from hoarding situations. This has put a massive financial strain on the organisation. Lack of funds is a major part of why complying is so difficult right now.

The bottom line is: if the sanctuary is forced to shut down, hundreds of animals will die.

Please show your support on this petition and ask the state to allow them more time to adapt to the regulations.
