Let me start by saying I am in no way related or affiliated to Roy chubby brown or any of his staff. Although I have met him 5 or 6 times. 

I have watched over the years dodgy people get honours and recognition for so many things that weren't deserved. When it comes to light there are a few out there that aren't deserving. But Royston Vasey aka Roy chubby Brown is deserving, he is a person who has for decades put charities and other people first. His set as the uk’s blueest (filthiest) comedian has been well earned and a constant for decades, from a humble working class background, Roy has traveled hundreds of thousands of miles to make people laugh, but being working class and having a working class set to make people laugh shouldn't close you off to anything you deserve.

I'm sure Roy would be embarrassed by someone pointing all of this out and I'm sure pointing the work out he does he would probably say is enough it is enough for him to fill his heart and feel good by helping someone, but I think if the work you do is actually of substance and done with the thought and heart to help others you should be recognised for this, making people laugh is the best medicine they say, well it's got to be as important as picking up a tennis racket or holding a steering wheel or kicking a ball. If others can get recognised for going above and beyond they why not Roy? He's been making people feel good and laugh for over 5 decades.

The bare bones of it is that Roy Chubby Brown has had a very blue set for more than 5 decades, what do I mean by this? Well his working class roots his working class material and his working class speech (swearing) with his naughty and rude jokes has been seen as uncouth or less and this seems to exclude him from any recognition. No OBE no MBE, he's completely excluded.

This man is one of the hardest working people in the business called show. His loyalty to fellow comedians current and who have passed is a true testament to not only his work ethic but a streak of decency that deserves recognition. I've seen the photographs of this man turn up with cheques for charities in person year in year out. Overcoming his own health struggles he still manages a positive message everyday. The world is a better place because Roy is in it. And he deserves to be recognised for this. 

He has kept working thought the pandemic and he's tried to keep the people that work behind the scenes employed. He's raised money for a cause of his late and dear friend and works to keep his memory alive. Joe Longthorne. He messages blogs every day and tries to positively effect this world. And he achieves all that and more. We need to recognise Royston Vasey aka Roy Chubby Brown for the good soul he is and the great work he does. But more so he simply makes you feel better by making you laugh.
