Ban the sale of adhesive glue to children under the age of 18 in Nepal
The Issue
This petition is organised by a group of people in Boudha, Kathmandu who are engaged in supporting street children in Nepal and give them a chance to have a future. Researchers have shown that 95% of street children in Nepal are addicted to sniffing adhesive glue. Though various organizations/NGOs offer the children food and a warm place to sleep, the majority of street children choose to continue sniffing glue for the high and the freedom of the streets. Among the many health risks associated with sniffing dendrite, the chronic inhalation of glue among children has been shown to cause long-term damage to brain development. By banning the sale of adhesive glue to children under the age of 18, we aim to end glue addiction among children and hold shopkeepers accountable for their actions.
