We, the students of Alberta are requesting the following. Schools be either shutdown for a minimum of 2 weeks or attendance to school be made optional. We as students have numerous rights as students set out by the Charter of Rights and Schools. Prestigious schools such as Harvard University, University of Alberta, and University of Calgary have realized the effect of what this can have on their student body. In the absence of responsible government, The City of Edmonton has had to shutdown recreation centers. The Provincial Government of Ontario has shutdown schools two weeks after spring break. The Government of Alberta for the protection of students has to shut down schools to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
