Karen green - Utopia McCann Justice McCann started this petition to The government/ court

Justice McCann committed a crime which he bitterly regrets. He grew up within an abusive household and although numerous reports were made and there was heavy social service involvement during his childhood, nothing was ever done to help him and his siblings.

It was disclosed, that to block the pain, Justice started smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol when he was 8 years old. Justice suffers with anger issues and has repeatedly sought help - to no avail.

At the time of the crime, Justice was a chronic user of cannabis and suffered with blackouts, meaning that he had no recollection of his actions. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, which I feel, bearing in mind all of the circumstances, is unfair. He also has a partner and 3 young children.

Due to the level of remorse that he has shown, I believe  his prison sentence should be reduced. I feel that his case is very unfair, as I’ve already mentioned because of how he grew up (being abused) and the fact he visited his GP three times for help with addressing his issues with anger management.

It is clear that he was misunderstood by the court system and because of his ongoing issues, the sentence should be reduced as it could in the long term exacerbate the feelings he already struggles with as an individual. (He is still not receiving any help with his mental health).

Can we all pull together and give Justice the justice he deserves and so the authorities will finally listen to his cries for help?

If you want a better understanding I urge you to watch 24 Hours in Police Custody. (Channel 4). The look of remorse and defeat within his face said it all.
